★1970年代に誕生した、チャーリー・パーカーのアドリブ・ソロをサックス・アンサンブルで演奏するバンド“スーパーサックス”。そのリーダー格であるメド・フローリーの、若き日の録音が理想的な形で集大成されました。冒頭8曲はオーケストラによる演奏で、ハル・マキュージック、隠れ名手アーノ・マーシュなどニューヨークの凄腕が参加。（９）から（２２）まではロサンゼルスの気鋭達とのセッションで、ラスト2曲はサックス・アンサンブルを生かした内容。スーパーサックスの結成に至るまでのフローリーの軌跡を追うことができます。(jazzyellより)
