★オスカー・ムーア(1916-1981)は、オリジナルのナット・キング・コール・トリオのギタリストとして最もよく知られている。彼の革新的なハーモニーとコードの使い方は、トリオの象徴的なサウンドに不可欠であり、批評家やファンから広く称賛を得た。この間、ダウン・ビート誌、メトロノーム誌、エスクァイア誌から名誉ある賞を受賞し(1944〜1948年)、同時代最高のジャズ・ギタリストとしての地位を不動のものとした。
★1947年末にコールのトリオを脱退した後、ムーアは兄のグループ、ジョニー・ムーアのスリー・ブレイザーズに5年間参加し、R&Bの分野へとシフトしていったが、時折ジャズにも進出した。1952年、彼は小さなジャズ・コンボを率いるようになり、主にロサンゼルスのクラブで演奏した。しかし、彼のキャリアがかつての隆盛を取り戻すことはなかった。1952年から1955年にかけて、彼はスタンダード、スカイラーク、タンパ、ノーグラン、オメガテープといったレーベルに録音し、小さいながらも印象的な作品を残した。
